Who is actual worthy son ?

The Unworthy Son

"Son, we had an accident. I didn't get hurt much but your mother's condition is serious. Some money is needed and your mother has to be given blood too". Sixty two years old Madhav ji told his elder son on the phone ." Papa, I am very busy nowadays. I will not be able to come I have got a job package abroad, so I am preparing for the same. You had the same dream, right? Therefore, the hand is also running tight. Manage the money, I will give it later. "His elder engineer son replied.When he called his second doctor son, he also refused to come. He was to go to his mother-in-law's wedding. Yes, he definitely said don't worry about money, I will send it.

It is a different matter that he never sent the money. He hung up with despair. Now what is the use of calling that unworthy child (third Child) ? When these two worthy sons are not doing anything, what will he do? He thought and through cumbersome steps reached the wife in the hospital and piled on the chair. Old things started being remembered - 

Madhav Rai was a teacher in school. He had three sons and a daughter. First son was an engineer and a middle was a doctor. Daughter was married to a big family. Both lived in different cities with their wives.

The youngest son could not concentrate in studies. After the eleventh he left his studies and stayed at home. He used to say that "I do not want to do Job, but I want to serve my parents " but his teacher ( master ) was very angry with him. They renamed him as Nalayak (Unworthy). Both older brothers were obedient to their father, but he used to argue with them on the wrong thing. Therefore Madhav ji did not like him.

When Madhav ji retired, the accumulated capital was nothing. All the savings were spent on higher education of both the children and marriage of the daughter. There was a house, little land in the city and little land in the village. House expenses were running from his pension. When Madhav ji felt that the small one was not going to improve, he separated him and gave him part of the land and sent him to the village. Although he did not want to go, he bowed down to his father's insistence and started living in the village in a hut. Madhav ji would have married both his promising and worthy sons. His chest used to be widened with pride. But he did not even take the name of that unworthy (Nalayak) son. 

Two days ago, both the husband and wife had an accident. He was admitted to the government hospital with his wife. The doctor told his wife to do the operation.

"Papa, Papa (Father) !" Hearing this, he (father) saw in sleepiness and the same was standing in front (3rd child). He turned his back on anger. But he touched Papa's feet and said, "Father, why did you not tell this inferiority? But I too have left you with a spy. I have run away after getting the news".

He got him admitted to a big hospital, inspite of his father's disagreement. The mother underwent operation, Unworthy son donated blood to his mother. Day and night he was engaged in service, that one day he disappeared.

They (Parent) started thinking badly about him that on the third day he came back. In a month's time, his mother was completely healed. He (Son) took leave from the hospital and brought their parents to home. On asking Madhav ji, he told that it was a free of cost (Khairarati) hospital and no money has been spent.

There was only a maid at home. He (Son) left their parents and went back to the village.

Slowly everything became normal. One day, Suddenly Madavji wanted to meet his Unworthy son and When both reached the village farm, they were shocked to see the lock in the hut. Asked the man working in his field, he said, "This farm belongs to me now."

"What? But this field…" He ( Madav ji) was very surprised. "Yes. His mother was very ill. He sold all his fields in order to hospitalized his mother. He has gone to another city in search of livelihood. This slum (hut) is left with him. Here is his key". The man said.

When he entered the slum, he remembered his inept Son( Nalayak). When Madhav ji Open the envelope kept on the table and on seeing, the hospital bill of nine lakhs , it started teasing him.

He told his wife - "Janaki, your son was unaccustomed ( Nalayak), he was also a liar."

Suddenly tears began to fall from his eyes and he shouted loudly - "Where have you gone, unsaid, leave your father. Once you come back, I will not let you go anywhere." His wife's tears were also being carried.

And Madhav ji was waiting for his unworthy son to embrace him. He was really inept ( Nalayak ).

So who is really Worthy - Those who make a lot of money ? Those who are in very good positions ? Those who obey their parents ? or Those who care for their loved ones, who live with them in every situation irrespective of happiness and sorrow, who stand strong for them when and where needed.
